I Changed The Blog
If you haven't noticed yet, I've changed the background and colour theme of the entire blog, so hopefully it will be a nice refreshment for you guys (do you like the picture? =P). Anyways, the blog has been completely updated and I hope that it will attract more visitors and will provide a good look instead of that old Movember theme.
Today I Skipped School
I skipped school today because I felt like being a bad boy. No, I'm just kidding. Today I had to go to the UBC Transition large group assessment (a fancy way of saying test). Anyways, I woke up in the morning around 8:00AM because I didn't have any sport practices (volleyball was over) and I wanted to get some decent sleep. Anyways, I woke up and checked out the info sheet and found out that the test was actually at 9:00AM. So I had to totally rush my breakfast and I don't think I got down my cereal properly. Anyways, I ended up leaving around 8:10AM and I arrived just a few minutes before they started. They started by talking and talking and more talking and then they gave us sample questions so we would get a good feel of the actual test. So then they gave us these booklets and sheets of paper. We got the cognitive skills thing first which basically tested us on our non academic skills such as memory, analogies and logic. It was multiple choice and they gave us these things that read, "#1 A B C D E" and the letters were in circles and you were supposed to fill in the circles that you thought were the correct answer. Anyways, after that, we had some sort of a break (a short 15 minute break) and we got to go outside (beautiful day today) and get some fresh air. Around 11:45, we went back inside and started on the math portion of the assessment. There were four parts to the math, all of them which were kind of optional to everybody. For me, I only had to do the Grade 7 part and had the option to do other grades (and I went to Grade 9), but for Grade 8s, they had to do Grade 8 and any other part they wanted and so on. After the math portion (it was already around 1:00), we had lunch and we had to get back by 1:30). Anyways, after lunch (I didn't eat any because there was basically no place to sit), we finished the English portion of the assessment, which included two essays on two stories and an essay on ourselves. It was a great day and I made a few friends (although I was the only Begbie there). I think I did well on the assessment, but one thing that keeps me nervous is the application form. I had forgotten to hand in my application form and was supposed to get another one after the test, but I forgot, so now I don't know what to do.
That's It For Today
The biggest thing today was the test, but overall, today was a pretty good day. I have to go now, so thanks for reading, subscribe and I'll see you next time!
