On My Hand: Write About School Life

About My School Life

Life at school is really fun and epic for me. But sometimes I do get into a pickle of trouble. And lately that trouble has been: disrespect. NOW, I don't really feel like I'm being disrespectful, but if my teacher says so and if other people feel so, then I will stop.

I don't TRY to be disrespectful. It's not something that is NATURAL for me to do. I guess I'm just trying to be funny at most times or I'm just really nervous OR I don't know what I'm doing.

I could have avoided making my teacher feel disrespected today.

"Kevin, do you know how to set this thing up?"
"Go ask somebody else."

Well. Wasn't EXACTLY like that. But went like that. Mr. Rowland was having trouble with the computer and... Well, he asked me.

Now. As a side story, people probably think that I'm all techy and all that stuff because I make websites or I just know my way around the computer. BUT one thing I'm not good at (and what people think I am good at) are browsers. I don't know how to import bookmarks, I don't know the basic functions of YouTube and all that stuff. So if you're asking me for help on that type of stuff, you're better off with another person. I'm more of the type of guy that usually works with website development (I don't really incorporate browsers into that type of stuff). So go ask another person if you've been constantly asking me for browser or online help.

So I say, "Go ask somebody else." But don't think of me as loud and rude and sneering. I was very timid and I genuinely didn't know how to do what my teacher wanted me to do.

When I look back at the whole thing, I guess I was disrespectful. I could have avoided the whole thing just by replacing five words with, "I don't know how to do this." or "Maybe you should go ask somebody else."

So Mr. Rowland, I'm pretty sorry for disrespecting you. I didn't realize it, but when I look back at the thing, then I do see it. Hopefully you're not reading this though.

Another Unknown Large Group Assessment Thingy

WOAH. What? I went to another assessment thing? Yes I did. BUT, just like my UBC Transition assessment, I barely even knew about it.

It's just about lunch time and you could almost feel the nervousness in the air for those guys going to take the Van Tech Mini School test, but for me, I was totally clear for some basketball.

Well, I didn't know then.

So Mr. Rowland asks me, "Kevin, are you ready for the test?" or something like, "Good luck on the test Kevin." And I'm like, "What?" So he takes out the list of people's names that have registered for the Van Tech Mini School test and he says, "Well, your name is on the list." The the bell rings and I'm totally not sure what to do. My cousin, Michael, says that I should keep my options open, so does this count? I didn't know what to do, so I just gathered all my stuff and prepared to go (my friend's mom was going to drive me) . BUT then I decided not to go. Then I decided to go. Then not to. Then to. Then not to. You get it.

After a few minutes of thinking, I decided that I wanted to go just to try out the test, keep my options open and have fun. So I quickly grab pencils, a black pen and all that stuff and I head out to the lunch room.

Down there, I ask Angelo for his cellphone so I could call in with my grandma and tell her that I was going to go to a test (remember, I didn't know), but she wasn't home. So I called my dad at his restaurant and after a few minutes of Cantonese conversation, I got him to tell my grandma, my mom and essentially my whole family about the test.

Off we go.

Kito's mom ends up driving me (carpooling, yah!) and by the time I get there, I'm prepared and I've had my questions answered.

The test was fun. It was really fun. Completely a blow over compared to the Transition test. So I'm not going to talk about it. If you really want to know about it, go ask Calvin, Benson, Kito or somebody else. Anyways, after the test, Calvin, Benson and I go to office to hand in Calvin and Benson's application (I needed to get a new one) and we end up having a bit of an adventure.

I've now got a good understanding of everything high school and above grade seven programs. Before today, I thought that I definitely didn't get into Transition, but I now realize that the first offers were made in January (and the same is for other programs). How silly of me. =P

Today I'm About A... 10 OF COURSE

Today was a fun day. =) I can guarantee that. 10 because I had an adventure, got to skip some school (who doesn't want to with my sleeping patterns), got to play some Realm Of The Mad God (epic game you should check out, but you'll need Google Chrome) and... Well, today was just a great day for me (so is everyday).

Anyways, thanks for reading, I definitely hope you'll subscribe, I also hope you have enjoyed my new form of writing (one sentence paragraphs now!) and I'll see you in my next post!
